MISSION
The Private Faith Leaders Retreat of the Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast is an attempt to solve the problem of clergy burnout in pastors, especially pastors who lead congregations of less than 100 people and have no budget for vacation, by awarding grants for hospitality for vacation, help for clergy/ministry discernment and hope for renewal for continued ministry.
OUR STORY
Morning Glory began as a dream many years ago!
The initial dream was to open a Bed and Breakfast that was welcoming to all people for their accommodations in the city where it would be located. However, over time, the dream evolved because of the founder’s passion to help church leaders to lead the church well.
Today, Morning Glory exists as a unique place for private respite for faith leaders, especially clergy.
WHAT WE DO
The goal is to ensure that all clergy have an opportunity to get away regardless of the size and budget of their congregation.
We hope that their visit to Morning Glory will impact them in positive ways that give them insight, encouragement, and the respite they need to continue serving, discern next steps, and pursue personal passions.
The Private Faith Leaders Retreat at Morning Glory boasts exquisite accommodations and attentive concierge service experienced in a renewal package custom designed for the individual.
Options in this package might include – 1 hour of Spiritual Direction, 1-2 hours of Ministry or Career Consulting, Massages, Yoga, Guided Tours, Local Attractions, etc. The specifics will be confirmed at the time a reservation is made. The primary goal is for you to rest.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Rev. Dr. Delesslyn Audra Kennebrew, J.D., M.Div. is a Visionary Strategist, Faithful Innovator, Inspirational Essayist, and Preacher.
She is a Pastor to Pastors who has a desire to see church leaders lead well and understands that they must be well in order to do so. For 17 years, she has worked to give life to the vision and mission of local churches. Dr. Kennebrew has a passion for helping churches to discern, discover, and develop what's next.
She currently serves as the Administrative Secretary of the National Convocation and the Associate General Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Her Ministry Motto is Colossians 3:17 - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
